A Very Busy Time
Over the last month, I have been very busy. There's been dish cloths knitted, pegs painted up and a lovely big chair reconditioned and sent off to the upholsterers... and I'm still working hard on making the next market at the new Bulimba site a success too.
In the past week, I've scored 3 bolts of fabric from a friend who didn't want them, and turned two of those bolts into table cloths for my stall tables. It was one of the hardest things to do, but I found it a great challenge - and I love challenges.
The first table cloth was a big green one made. It was sewn back to back with my calico cloth and so turning it into a double-sided table cloth. This made it so that I could use either my red and white cloths or the new green and peach design... very useful and lovely too. The other bolt of fabric (which is the floral one) was made into a lovely large cloth to put over the green undress of the table and it looks just lovely. I also cut out another piece to go on the smaller table where the suitcase sits and yet another piece to make a curtain for the bathroom - another project which is in the works and I've yet to have a go at.
All of this took around 4 hours to do last Saturday and the next day or two, I couldn't move because I had to spread it all out on the living room floor of my folks' house.
Otherwise, I've been going well with the dish cloths; and I'm able to find cheap crochet cotton in $2.00 stores which are nice, bright and very easy to work with. This frees things up for me to make the dish cloths as big as I want and not worry about running out of yarn too soon.
However, I do have a slight concern about finding magnets for the magna pegs. I'm running out of magnets and a lot of the art and cheap stores don't have any... so I'm going to have to look on the net for them. I'm not too worried or concerned as yet, but I am looking around.
Well, there's my news all updated. Hope your creative world is going as well as mine - most of the time. Until my next post, keep creating.
