A New Year, New Work

Writer's picture: Lynda ParkerLynda Parker

It's been a few weeks since I last posted, but I haven't been lax in working on my paintings.

During NYE, I fixed up the Brunswick Heads Surf Beach and it's looking better than ever! Now, it's hanging on my bedroom wall to dry properly before I sell it. I also was halfway through 'The Brunswick Bar' and finished that as well a few days later... I'm really happy with myself about that too!

Now, I'm working on another painting which has taken me further afield: to Murwillumbah. I'm working on 'The View'. It's a painting I've wanted to do for a long time of what you see from the viewing platform of the Tweed River Art Gallery. It has so many greens and blues in it and some of the most dramatic clouds, I'm taking my time with it - but every time I go near it, it changes so markedly, I'm constantly taking progress photos.

And this year, I'll be working very hard on my paintings - more so than I did last year. Also after last year, and the stress of losing a wonderful friend to suicide and then the need to move from one class to another due to financial reasons (and another reason I'd really not go over yet again). This year is a new step in my life I've been looking forward to, and I'm going to be painting more, painting faster and enjoying every single step of it all. I can't wait to get in and have my work looked at by many more people as time goes on and I get to exhibit my work to more people.

Well, it's time to sign off. I hope you all keep in touch here and on Facebook.

The Year 2020

Well, what I can say about this year? I haven't been around and there's been a good reason why: I've been painting and creating my butt...
